IVAN SALAZAR (2019)

In honor of the invisible heroes - Ivan Salazar from Colombia is a professional photographer and industrial designer. His passion for photography is shown in the beautiful murals he makes on a large scale. He is the founder and leader of Association for Culture, Art and Exploration, which was established in 2015. The association works with artists who use art as a tool for social change. Salazar has explored stencil techniques as a tool to bring photographs into the art of the public space.

FISKEREN (THE FISHERMAN)

Salazar's main idea is to present aesthetic forms of expression via geometric layers. These form a message that hides in the overlapping areas. The messages are associated with photographic portraits of everyday heroes or "invisible heroes" as he calls them. According to Salazar, it is these people who tell the story of real life. Ivan has participated in urban art projects internationally, including in Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, Norway and the United States.

The majestic work located right next to the Spira Cultural Center is called The Fisherman. The beautiful work in blue tones was the largest street art project in Flekkefjord in 2019. Salazar says that this work is also in honor of the invisible heroes, which is a major theme for the artist. Here the focus is on the historical everyday hero in southern Norway; the fisherman, the farmer, the health worker, the oil worker, etc. a workhorse and a struggler. They are the ones that have kept our heads above water as a nation. They are the everyday heroes!
