TÖDDEL

"It started with the corona pandemic and a little too much time in the home office. I started cutting a little in linoleum, and then I started printing and playing with colors and shapes ", says the artist Töddel. In the middle of the Dutch town in Flekkefjord, something new appears during a night in the spring of 2021. On the stairs of one of the town's residents. It's a picture of Winston Churchill. He is wearing a face mask and shows the British sign for "up yours"!

The anonymous street artist operates with socially critical street art based in Southern Norway. "I have always been politically involved. It's fun to notice the response, to see people stop in the street and take pictures of my art ", he says eagerly. His works can be found from Lofoten in the north, to Arendal and Flekkefjord in the south. His motifs often have pop-cultural references placed in a humorous or socially critical context. Töddel is active and we are all excited about when and where his next work will appear!

ALFRED SAND

Töddel is inspired by people who stand out from the crowd. The picture of Alfred Sand is a tribute to the local celebrity Alfred Sand who is well known in Flekkefjord through his furniture business. According to Töddel, he represents the good life in Flekkefjord. Location: The intersection between Brogaten and Kirkegaten, at the transformer house in Flekkefjord.

REINERT THE DOG

The work by Reinert the dog is a tribute to the Instagram phenomenon, the duo Reinert the dog and Bildemannen Paul, from Kristiansand. "They do a great job of sharing images of street art with charm and a humorous look at Southern Norway," says the street artist. Location: The promenade, outside Presteruds Bakery, Flekkefjord.

WINSTON CHURCHILL

Winston Churchill was Töddel's first piece of street art in Flekkefjord. The iconic and humorous work shows Churchill wearing a facemask, showing the British sign for "up yours". The artist is already signaling a slightly provocative line here, with elements of both humor and satire. At the same time, he hereby confirms that he has great respect for his objects, who are lifted up in heroic form. Location: Sirdalsgaten, Flekkefjord.
