VEBJØRN MOI

An experimental road – Vebjørn was an art major in high school. Later on, he got his degree as a graphic designer from Westerdals School of Communication. Even as a youth Moi showed a keen interest in and passion for the world of art. He has experimented with several techniques, both in his spare time and through his education. His contribution to the street art project in Hollenderbyen (The Duch Quarter) is in fact a result of a development in which various techniques have been tested.

OLA DECK BOY (OLA DEKKSGUTT)

Ola Dekksgutt was created in 2016 in Nesgaten. It is a modern version of Ola Dekksgutt, who embarked on the ship Ann Mari, from Flekkefjord. The story is based on a song written by Thorbjørn Egner in 1965. The mural is stylistic, simplistic and beautiful. With its calming blue tones on a white background, Moi’s street art is a perfect addition to the white wodden houses in Flekkefjord city centre. The blue colour in the art is a nod to the maritime sculpture of Ola Dekksgutt at Tollbodplassen. The sculpture was given to the city by Flekkefjord Kunstforening (Flekkefjord Art Clb) in 1985.
